Sotomayor’s Racist Remarks
May 27, 2009
Anybody who knows anything about my career in radio knows that I almost was professionally destroyed in the l990’s because some jealous, fanatical zealots were determined to slander and malign me. This defamation was without much reaction from people who, if only for their own sakes, chose to remain silent publicly while telling me privately what they really thought about the contemptible vermin attacking me as a racist.
I was vilified and hounded off ABC by their new owner, the Walt Disney Company. The question of course is, “What is a racist?” What does it mean to be a “racist”? Without going into the brutal attacks and the alleged racist comments I was accused of making, let me assure anyone not familiar with that unfortunate episode of my life that at no time did I say I was superior to anyone who was not a Caucasian male.
However, we now have the mind-boggling spectacle of the Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor saying, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male.”
Am I the only person in America who finds that statement to be stupid and utterly bigoted? Why was it necessary to the nominee to frame her appointment in such a bellicose and racial way?
I used to think that the creation of the Supreme Court was to rule on matters of the law as it was measured by the Constitution, that it was to function as the ultimate legal authority with the sole purpose to determine the constitutionality of a specific case.
But to Judge Sotomayor, it is to be a platform to smite white, Anglo-Americans, and raise the power of La Raza! I do believe this is just the opening salvo of a long, protracted ethnic, racial conflict which, of course, is the consequence of the election of Barack Obama.
This is truly the beginning of the end of this once great republic!
