Focus on Party Labels
January 6, 2011
I have never realized more than I do today, just how really childish most personalities and so-called pundits are.
The talk and accusations has very little to do with the issues at hand. It revolves around the most banal and vacuous reason. And that is the label of the political party a person indentifies with.
It is really no different than White House Press Chief, Robert Gibbs, wearing an Auburn University sweater when he watches an Auburn football game on television. Yes, he said he watches his alma mater’s games every Saturday and when he watches, he does so wearing his beloved Auburn sweater.
There is nothing wrong with that. As a matter of fact, it is preferable to the snipping and cheap criticism of the freak celebrities like Joy Behar, Keith Olbermann, David Letterman, and other ignorant performers who are quoted for no reason except they are on television.
But, who talks about issues? Already this crowd of overpaid, talentless jerks is focusing, not on House Speaker, John Boehner’s policies or his agenda, but on his trait of getting emotionally chocked up and shedding tears unashamedly.
Maybe it would be less fun if we left those meaningless traits out of the dialogue, but maybe we could become a better nation if we did.
Most people will lie and tell you they don’t go by party labels. I have come to the inescapable conclusion that it is all about party labels. If anybody wants to challenge that statement let them e-mail me at BobGrantOnline.com.
Oh, I will admit in many cases it goes a little deeper, but the predisposition to forgive or overlook the shortcomings of an office holder if he or she is a member of your team, meaning your political party.
If you are a Democrat and the fumbling chief executive is also a Democrat, you will give that persona pass, or blame the political opposition.
If that same chief executive is a member of the other party, then, of course, it is his fault. Even though I decry this idiocy, I know there is nothing that is going to change, because human nature being what it is, we are doomed to the party label chimera’s hold on us.
Too bad, and may the Republicans prevail! Ha ha ha!
