America's Less Than Promising Future

July 15, 2011

People are writing or asking, “Bob, why do you have no positive view of this nation’s future?” Those are not the exact words I am being constantly asked, but those words accurately describe what they say and how I feel. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t see more and more evidence of our putrefaction as a society and as a nation. For example, right now the leaders in Washington D. C. are at odds over what is necessary to save us from a serious default of debt.

The so-called president does not want to yield to reality. Instead, since his only thought is getting four more years to continue wrecking America, he will not cooperate with Republicans who won a huge majority in the House of Representatives. That is why they have a mandate to do the right thing — to curtail government spending and shrink the government. How this will play out is still not certain at this writing, but rest assured the future is most tenebrous because we do not have a commander in chief who wants to save the economy. Rather, we have a president who is only concerned with being re-elected for four more years.

As if that wasn’t enough to make a person feel negative about our future, what about the obsession of the homosexual community to change not only our beliefs and traditions, but to change forever what the U.S. education system is all about? Unlike other nations our schools are no longer places of learning mathematics, reading, history, science, engineering, and all those other subjects a nation has a right to expect its younger generation to learn. These students will not be able to compete with students from India and China and Japan and virtually every other country on the face of the earth. They will not be able to compete because they will be too busy learning of the so-called contributions of homosexual, bisexual, and transgender citizens.

Does anybody in his right mind see any logic or value to the legislation which was passed by the overwhelmingly liberal California legislature and signed by an oddball lefty by the name of Jerry Brown recently? The legislation adds gay and lesbian history to the social studies curriculum in schools there. California, of course, was the first state ever to pass such legislation. They didn’t call Jerry “Governor Moonbeam” for nothing. To think we have paid so much in taxes to maintain a school system that is controlled by people who have a perverted agenda. To think that what was once considered something weird and unthinkable is now to be lauded and saluted as something great and beyond normal.

Yes, my friends, you and I are not part of the dawning of the new mainstream. I remember seeing a musical in Los Angeles many years ago. The title of the show was “Hair.” As I recall, the performance began with a song which went something like this: “This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. . .” Fellow Americans, this is the dawning of the age of Sodom and Gomorrah. God help us!
