Americans Aren’t Concerned With Character
February 2, 2009
Now, all of the sudden, the narcissist-in-chief is concerned about jobs and giving the small businessman a break!
What have I and my many epigones been saying all these months? It is the right thing to do, of course. If it weren’t, I wouldn’t have been recommending it. But, I feel bifurcated because I don’t want Obama to get away with pulling off another hoax.
Several months ago, I wrote on this site a commentary which said in part that President Obama was not evil. I have had to rethink that position and realize now he must be evil to be so duplicitous and cunning.
I fear the economy will get better and although he shouldn’t get credit for the upward swing, he will because that is just the way politics, especially presidential politics is played out.
The people are not really interested in a presiden’ts character. They apparently don’t care about his morals, his ethics, his lack of veracity.
We don’t have to look back too far to get a perfect example of how correct I am than the example of Bill Clinton. Evidence kept spilling out that indeed he had done some of the things alleged and then it was revealed that he committed perjury, lying under oath. When it was proven, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that he did have sex with Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office, he blatantly looked into the camera and lied to the American people by saying, “I did not have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky.”
When all of these things transpired, his approval numbers remained in the sixties!
Even when the House of Representatives voted to impeach him, Clinton’s approval ratings remained high. The American people demonstrated, beyond anything else, that they did not care.
But I left out he most important adjective . . . charming! Yes, Bill Clinton was charming.
So, as the American people as voters have shown so many times through history, they will overlook the moral turpitude of our leader time and time again. Also, they don’t want to admit they were wrong when they vote for someone. So even when the emperor reveals he has no clothes, we still don’t want to admit he is naked before us.
However, I don’t believe that Barack Obama has the same boyish charm that Bill Clinton had. Obama is too obsessed with proving he is the avuncular professor he has always fancied himself. So hopefully his own hubris will be responsible for this being a one-term president.
That hubris will have to be obvious and demonstrable to the American people, otherwise he will fool them again in 2012 as he did in 2008.
Let us pray!
