It Ain’t Over Yet!

July 12, 2010

I don’t know how many of you read my online column. I have no way of knowing.

I would appreciate it, however, if those of you who do read it would do two things. First, tell somebody else about the web site, and secondly, let me know you are out there.

You can e-mail me as often as you like. If I don’t get some kind of response I may stop writing the columns and find something else to do.

My friends, the reason I am sounding so tenebrous about all this is that I have come to the point that I do believe we are on the verge of some sort of civil war.

Perhaps what I really am saying is that we may be on the precipice of a RACE war in this country.

And if that happens, I will hold the 44th president of the United States responsible since he has been the one who appointed Eric Holder to be the Attorney General. Also, he is the one who rushed to judgment in the case involving Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates and the police officer in the mistaken identity burglary fiasco in 2009.

Obama is the one who immediately said the police acted stupidly and ignited some citizens to be angrier than usual with the police.

Now we come to the case in Philadelphia, which this column has previously addressed. On election day in November 2008, in the city of Philadelphia, members of the New Black Panther Party intimidated voters from voting.

It seemed the targets of the gang of thugs out there were white voters who, it was feared, might be voting for McCain. What these hooligans were doing was clearly a violation of the civil rights of citizens to vote and warranted an investigation and subsequent prosecution.

However, the Obama Justice Department determined, without a full examination, that no further action would be taken. The case would be dropped and the miscreants would get away with their criminal actions.

Now we come to the case in Oakland, California where a white transit policeman, in an exchange with a black individual who was unarmed, fired a weapon that caused the death of that individual.

It was demonstrated in a court of law that the facts did not warrant a murder conviction, but a lesser “crime” of involuntary manslaughter for which the officer was arrested until sentencing.

Since that verdict, the community has expressed its displeasure by looting and vandalizing innocent businesses and in general setting the stage for Rodney King type mayhem.

Now Eric Holder wants to enter the case and see if they can’t use a little, good old fashioned double jeopardy a la the treatment given to Officer Powell and his colleagues in the Rodney King case.

So, it ain’t over until it’s over, or should I say, “It ain’t over until the mob says it’s over.”

Thank you, Mr. Obama!
